Explore the laid back city of Chefchaouen and the surrounding areas.
Chefchaouen or Chaouen as most locals call it, is probably the most chill and laid back city in Morocco. Located in the Rif Mountains, Chaouen is known for its blue washed walls and beautiful Medina. It is also a perfect location to visit for nature lovers.

After visiting the busiest Markets of Fes and Marrakesh, this is the place to come and unwind. The locals are welcoming and shopping is less stressful. No matter the reason for visiting Chefchaouen, there are plenty of things to do and enjoy.

Wander the narrow blue streets of the Medina that is one of the prettiest in all of Morocco and enjoy some of the bazaars you will come across. This is the perfect place to shop for authentic souvenirs minus the hustle that you might encounter in the Medinas of Marrakesh and Fes.

While walking up the narrow blue streets, you will end up at one of the nicest spots called Ras El Maa which means head of the water. It is a place to relax at one of the cafes and take some amazing pictures with amazing views.

Once you are done visiting Ras El Maa Waterfall, take a walk through the Medina to get to the main square where you will be able to enjoy a nice view of Place Uta El Hammam while having lunch or dinner at one of the restaurants surrounding the plaza.

With it being located in the Rif Mountains, this is also a hike and trek option for nature and outdoor lovers. You can walk uphill to the lookout point above the Medina. This is the place everyone visits to have a picturesque view of the whole city.

For hiking enthusiasts, make sure you plan a day trip to the Akchour Waterfalls located just about an hour from Chefchaouen. This is a beautiful place to visit, hike to the top of the waterfall or just relax by the stream and enjoy a cup of tea while taking a dip to cool off.
