Most Important Festivals in Morocco
When visiting Morocco, one will notice that celebrations play a huge part in its culture and tradition. Throughout the year there are plenty of religious, national holidays and festivals showcasing the ever-changing customs from one part of the country to another.

Festival of Roses: This festival is held in Kelaa M’Gouna (about an hour
from Ouarzazate) referred to as the Valley of Roses. This colorful festival celebrates the rose harvest and
happens during the month of May.

Festival of World Sacred Music: This weeklong festival is held annually during the Spring and gathers
musicians from around the world. It celebrates spiritual traditions from around

Morocco’s old history and culture. This festival has grown to include famous

of this amazing four-day festival.

International Film Festival: This Festival is held in December and
celebrates many local and international productions. It is attended by some of
the famous world actors and actresses.
· Marrakech Art Festival: This is held during the Summer in the ruins of the 16th century Badii Palace and Jemaa El Fnaa and attracts artist from Morocco, Europe and Asia.
· Imilchil Marriage Festival: This Berber/Amazigh festival takes place in the high Atlas Mountains and is held annually in August/September timeframe. It celebrates the Berber culture and music. This traditional Berber custom celebrates the coming together of different tribes to marry their sons and daughters.
